Iran’s foreign minister says the Islamic Republic has countered enemy plots aimed at spreading Islamophobia and Iranophobia.

Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Monday that Iran has with an impeccable logic confronted the Zionist project of Islamophobia and Iranophobia in the global arena.

The Iranian foreign minister made the remarks in an address to the 7th General Assembly of Islamic Radio and Television Union in the Iranian capital, Tehran, on Monday.

The event, which is attended by representatives of the media and other relevant institutions from 30 countries, kicked off on Sunday and will continue until Wednesday.

The Iranian foreign minister also pointed to the Israeli campaign of demonizing Iran and said that the Islamic Republic has managed to foil the media campaign with its logical approach.

Zarif also urged Muslim countries to remain vigilant in the face of plots hatched by the enemies of Islam.

He said ill-wishers especially the Zionists have been making attempts for years to tarnish the image of Islam and have put the promotion of Islamophobia high on their agenda.

The Iranian foreign minister further called on the independent and responsible media outlets to identify those who seek to sow discord among Muslims, and present the true image of Islam.

Zarif said that “religious extremism” bears no relation to the teachings of Islam, underlining the necessity to enlighten public opinion about the existing realities of Islam.
