Maduro’s son threatens to ‘take White House’ if US intervenes in Venezuela

The son of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has condemned threats of military intervention voiced by US President Donald Trump. “If the US soils the homeland, the rifles would come to New York and take the White House,” the Venezuelan leader’s son, also called Nicolas, said while speaking at the country’s new constituent assembly on Saturday. “Mind your own business and solve your own problems, Mr. Trump,” he added. Trump told reporters on Friday that the US had “many options” for solving the on-going Venezuelan crisis, “including a possible military option if necessary.” The US president called Maduro a “dictator,” blaming him for the economic crisis and ongoing unrest in Venezuela.
