A former NHS employee has been arrested by detectives investigating allegations that journalists bribed police officers and public officials.
Scotland Yard said the man, 31, was detained at his home in Uxbridge, west London, early on Thursday.
He was held on suspicion of conspiracy to cause misconduct in a public office, and corruption.
He was being questioned at a London police station, the Met added. The arrest is the 36th during the inquiry.
Scotland Yard’s Operation Elveden investigation was set up to look into allegations of inappropriate payments to police and other public officials. It is supervised by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
It is linked to Operation Weeting, the investigation into mobile phone hacking by journalists.
