DENVER – Since the Occupy protest started about three weeks ago the City of Denver has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on security for the demonstrations.
Friday, city leaders said that since the start of the protest, Denver Police and the Denver Sheriff’s Department have spent $365,000.
That is only the cost for the City and County of Denver. Other costs from the Colorado State Patrol, which clashed with the protesters when they tried to camp on State Capitol grounds, does not factor into that figure.
