EC told Paris to investigate Disneyland following accusations of overcharging British and German customers.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The European Commission told Paris to investigate Disneyland following accusations of overcharging British and German customers and excluding them out of price promotions, the Financial Times reported.

The investigation will target several cases, in which for the same premium package, French consumers were paying some 15 percent less that other UK and German visitors, the newspaper reported on Tuesday.

The European Commission voiced concerns that the French Disneyland prevents consumers in some member states from using seasonal promotions by so-called geo-blocking, making the best deals unavailable to those, who do not have a French credit card.

Under EU rules, member states cannot drive up prices according to nationality or country of residence.

If France refuses to launch the investigation against Disneyland, Brussels may take Paris to court in its fight against price discrimination in Europe.
