The hacktivist group known as Anonymous has held a demonstration rally in London accusing the BBC of biased reporting.

Mask clad Anonymous members gathered outside the state-run BBC headquarters denouncing what they referred to as the government media propaganda machine, RT reported on Tuesday.

The protesters — who were chanting “Shame on you!” and “Stop lying!” — also accused the BBC of “hiding pedophiles in your midst when [their] staff knew about the abuse of children.”

Anonymous also released a video, in which it accused the BBC of “failing” to cover important news and the fabrication of information.

“The BBC takes taxpayers’ money and uses it as their own,” an Anonymous spokesperson said in the video.

“The government appear to tell you what to report or not and this year has seen many stories go unreported or twisted to a government viewpoint,” he added.

The group also said the pedophilia case of former BBC presenter Jimmy Savile was just the beginning because there are many more child molesters still at large.

Savile died in 2011, and following his death, hundreds of allegations of sex abuse and rape of minors became public.

In January 2013, in a report by the police and the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC), Savile was branded as one of the UK’s most prolific known sexual predators, who used his celebrity status to “hide in plain sight.”
