It was okay for Gore to contest election fraud but Trump will be condemned
Media praised Al Gore for contesting presidential election in 2000 over election fraud, but condemn Trump for entertaining the idea in 2016
In 2000, Al Gore went to the Supreme Court over election fraud to try to stop George Bush becoming president.
“The Florida vote was ultimately settled in Bush’s favor by a margin of 537 votes when the U.S. Supreme Court, in Bush v. Gore, stopped a recount that had been proposed by the Florida Supreme Court. That in turn gave Bush a majority of votes in the Electoral College and victory in the presidential election.”
Yet, when Donald Trump rightly says he will not concede an election, where the signs of election fraud are already rife, he is condemned by the mainstream media and casted as a trouble maker.
Democracy is about fair elections. Rigged elections undermine democracy and should be contested.
