Kiev troops seize 4 polling stations in Krasnoarmeysk, Donetsk region – activists

Ukrainian government forces have seized four schools where polling stations were located in the town of Krasnoarmeysk in the Donetsk region, co-chairman of the government of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin said, according to Itar-Tass.

All the people staying at the polling stations were evacuated, he added.

Pushilin also mentioned that voting bulletins and lists of voters were saved and taken away by members of the election committee.

According to other media reports, Ukrainian government forces also seized city administration and a police department in Krasnoarmeysk. “The Dniepr-2 battalion has seized the town hall building and the police department in Krasnoarmeysk, using cash-in-transit vehicles. However, local residents managed to hide the ballots, so these were not destroyed,” co-chairman of the Donetsk People’s Republic Miroslav Rudenko said, as quoted by Interfax.

Citizens are gathering for a spontaneous rally in the town center to express their discontent with what is going on, he added.

Presumably, this operation is conducted by the 93rd Dnipropetrovsk mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian National Guard, the local website 06239.com.ua said, citing its own sources.
