THE MEDICAL INNOVATION BILL CAN STILL BE PASSED DESPITE A LIBERAL DEMOCRAT VETO.

DUE FOR A SECOND READING THIS FRIDAY IN THE HOUSE OF COMMONS.

The Bill will still be debated, just in the time set aside for Private Members’ Bills and not Government Bills.

JUST ONE MP NEEDED TO SAY OBJECT AT 2 30 ON FRIDAY TO KILL THE BILL.

CONTACT YOUR MP TODAY AND ASK THEM TO VOTE AGAINST A BILL WHICH REMOVES THE RIGHT TO COMPENSATION IF A DOCTOR KILLS OR INJURES A PATIENT WITH AN EXPERIMENTAL DRUG.

THE BILL RECREATES THE WILD-WEST OF NAZI GERMAN CONCENTRATION CAMPS WHEN DOCTORS COULD INJECT VICTIMS WITH PETROL OR WHATEVER THEY PLEASED AND THE VICTIM HAD NO RECOURSE TO COMPENSATION IF THEY WERE KILLED OR INJURED.

THE BILL WAS INTRODUCED INTO THE HOUSE OF LORDS BY LORD MAURICE SAATCHI IN JUNE JUST BEFORE WHO DECLARED EBOLA AN INTERNATIONAL EMERGENCY.

THE WANDERING TEACAKE BLOG WRITES THAT THE VAST MAJORITY OF AMENDMENTS PROPOSED WERE REJECTED:

The vast majority of amendments offered by Lord Saatchi’s colleagues to try to remedy the many faults of the bill were discarded.

Of the more than 2000 words of amendments independently proposed by Lord Saatchi’s colleagues, only 7 words were accepted into the bill. Even those 7 words were deletions rather than additions.

Despite claims the bill had cross-party amendment, no text was added to the bill that didn’t have Saatchi’s name attached to it.

THE BILL PAVES THE WAY FOR THE IMMEDIATE DISTRIBUTION AND ADMINISTRATION IN THE UK OF EXPERIMENTAL EBOLA VACCINES WHILE BLOCKING ALL REDRESS FOR VICTIMS.

ONLY ONE MP NEEDED TO BLOCK THE BILL ON FRIDAY.

All it takes to block a bill at 2.30pm on a Friday is for any member of the House of Commons to shout ‘Object’. The objector isn’t even identified in Hansard. As the Telegraph makes clear, Sarah Wollaston MP, the Tory chair of the Health Select Committee, was also opposed to the bill and so could have blocked the bill. It wouldn’t have to be a Lib Dem.
