Over 20 PKK Fighters Killed in Clashes With Turkish Soldiers in Hakkari Province

At least 21 militants of the the Kurdistan Workers’ Party’s were killed on Thursday clashes with Turkish servicemen in the country’s southeastern province of Hakkari, local media reported.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Turkish Minute news website reported that 21 PKK militants were killed in the Cukurca district of Hakkari.

According to the media outlet, two Turkish servicemen were killed and five more were injured in the clashes with PKK militants.

Tensions between Ankara and the PKK escalated in July 2015 when a ceasefire between the sides collapsed over a series of terror attacks allegedly committed by the PKK, which is outlawed in Turkey as a terrorist organization.
