STAMP prices could go up again after Royal Mail got the green light for another big rise.
On Monday, first class stamps are going up from 46p to 60p and second class stamps from 36p to 50p.
Now industry regulator Ofcom proposes that some prices can rise by up to a third in the next seven years to allow for inflation.
As part of the plan there will be a cap on what Royal Mail can charge for second class large letters and small parcels, in line with a similar rule for second class stamps.
Ofcom claimed the cap ensured that mail would stay affordable for small businesses and the vulnerable.
But Dr Ros Altmann, of the over-50s group Saga, said: “There is no end to the bad news for anyone who wants to use the post.
“Once again, older people will be hardest hit.”
