The acting President of the Austrian Hofer acknowledged the Crimea part of Russia

Recognizing the Crimea as Russian territory, Norbert Hofer urged other Austrian politicians to speak on this issue.

Temporarily fulfilling duties of the President of Austria Norbert Hofer acknowledged the Crimea part of Russia. He stated this in an interview with Sputnik.

“From my point of view, the Crimean Peninsula is Russian territory, is part of Russia, and would be curious to see whether there is enough courage from other Austrian politicians to Express their opinion on this issue,” said Hofer.

After the spring of this year the court has cancelled results of elections of the President of Austria, the representative of the right-nationalist freedom Party Norbert Hofer was one of the three acting heads of state. The cancelled election, he took second place, losing to the representative of the “Green” Alexander van der Bellano just 0.6 percent.

A second vote is scheduled for December 4th.+
