United Nations finalizing the Syria Chemical weapons analysis
Syria chemical weapons analysis being finalized by UN
The UN declared on Tuesday that it was finalizing legal and logistical details before it sends its inspectors to Syria to assess allegations of chemical weapons attacks. “It is anticipated that these preparations will be completed within the next days, following which the date of the mission in Syria will be announced,” UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s press office told Reuters. The UN reported last week that Syria had agreed to allow the experts to visit three places where chemical weapons were thought to have been used. The Syrian government claims that rebels were responsible for chemical weapons usage in the region, while the rebels accuse the Assad government of launching the attacks.
